Flags
across the U.S.A. was started by the
Veterans Flag Depot with goal
of seeing every American household and business flying the U.S. flag
on all flag holiday's especially Memorial Day.
As a child I remember how patriotic Americans were
and most houses and businesses flew the U.S. Flag on Memorial Day,
Fourth of July, and Veterans Day. I go out now on these dates and
very few flags are out at all!
What happened America? We were all patriotic after 9-11 and sadly
when the memory faded so did the flag flying and the patriotism that
went with it.
Flags flying across the U.S.A. will be a constant reminder of
national unity in the preservation of freedom from past to future.
Let's get our flags out America!
No other symbol so readily and clearly says
"America." We are a nation of diversity. The one unifying symbol of
America in war and peace is the United States Flag.
The U.S. Flag has led troops into battle since the Revolutionary
War; it has inspired men and women to great deeds; it flies above
our places of business as a testimony to the free enterprise system;
it is displayed in our houses of worship as testimony to our freedom
to worship God as our conscience dictates; it flies over our
government buildings because it symbolizes our form of government;
it is displayed in our schools as testimony to the importance of
universal education and our desire for an educated populace; it is
proudly flown from our front porches because we are proud to be
Americans and we are proud of the contributions our nation has made.
On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress resolved: "That the flag
of the United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white;
that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field,
representing a new constellation." It's interesting to note that the
United States Flag predates the adoption of the U.S. Constitution by
12 years. It's been a part of America longer than our most revered
legal document.

Could a person ever imagine what it
would be like to fly with the American Flag over patriotic crowds
saluting and singing the National Anthem? It is not really so far
fetched as a combat wounded Vietnam War Veteran streaks across the
sky “Riding Old Glory” over Normandy, France during the D-Day
Commemorations there.
“Years ago, I saw this giant
American Flag Parachute on the opening scenes of a Hollywood movie
called Terminal Velocity, as actor Charlie Sheen was flying it
between 20 story buildings. I loved it and never forgot it. Now I
own it,” says the former U.S. Army Airborne Ranger.
Since acquiring the custom made 288
square foot ram-air 9 cell parachute, professional skydiver Dallas
Wittgenfeld has used it to open the Thunder Birds Air Show, Wounded
Warrior programs, numerous D-Day commemorations, Military Order of
the Purple Heart promotions and was featured at the Purple Heart
Hand in Hand productions in Branson, Mo.
“Look close at the landing into the
Merville Battery National War Museum over Normandy, France.
Trailing is an authentic U.S. Capitol Flag and the Military Order of
the Purple Heart National Flag, in honor of all combat wounded
Veterans”, Wittgenfeld states.
“When I jump in France? I carry
down a French Foreign Legion patch that I recovered from a dead Viet
Minh in the Vietnam War. The Vietnamese combatant obviously cut it
off a dead Frenchman at the losing battle of Dien Bien Phu. I jump
with it proudly, in memoriam, of those French paratroopers who died
there before America got involved in the war of French Indo-China”,
the Para-commando admits.

Minor League Baseball stadiums as part of the “Red, White and Blue
Tour” to entertain fans and honor America with patriotic events
including ceremonies to rename America's highways for fallen heroes
of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.
Throughout his Drum Hike, Yocum will carry a custom Louisville
Slugger baseball bat for Mayors and Governors to sign, assisting the
Soldiers' Angels’ bid to declare Oct. 26 “Day of the Deployed,” a
national day of honor. The bat will be presented at the White House
on May 11, 2011.
“It means the world to me to have Heroes of the Diamond behind me,”

have without them. More than any other organization, Heroes of the
Diamond has believed in me from the beginning. Their continued
support of my project has brought everything together.”
In addition to the tour, benefit events associated with the Hike
will span the nation, including motorcycle rallies by Patriot Guard
Riders, a Blue Star Mothers convention, mini marathons, concerts and
